20th Sunday in Ordinary Time

This week, we're looking forward to having Rev. Matt back among us leading worship as we continue our journey in the gospel of Luke.  What we hear from Jesus in our scripture this weekend challenges our typical too-easy assumptions about what following Jesus is all about.  And yet, his challenging words speak with honesty and help us make sense of the real tensions we face when we try to live lives of faithfulness.  The road to which we are called is not an easy one... but it is the road upon which we discover ourselves walking along with Jesus, giver of the life that is truly life.
