For worship this Sunday, we will be sharing in an "instructed" service of Word and Feast. What is an "instructed" worship service, you ask? Instead of a formal sermon in this week's worship, Rev. Matt will be "breaking into" the flow of the order of worship at a few different points to offer brief explanations and reflections about what we do together in worship and why. A specially-formatted print bulletin for this week also includes informative sidebars about major elements of the worship service. People of all ages, from 9 months to 9 decades, often have questions about our worship life and practices, and so we will aim to open up these traditions in a few ways that will be accessible and meaningful for old and young alike.
A note to parents/grandparents/ caretakers of children and youth: Younger ones will be staying in worship for the whole service this week and there will be more than one "children's moment" in it. More over, they will join with Rev. Matt at the Communion Table to share in leading the celebration of the sacrament... and also be helping in the serving of communion to the congregation. We hope to see as many of them as possible here for worship this week!
