“Behind the Curtain”
This Sunday, as our worship services move back toward a more typical structure and style for the summer weeks, our cycle of bible readings move us back into the story of Jesus' life and ministry as told by the Gospel of Mark. In this week’s scene, Jesus finishes up some teaching to a gathered crowd with two “parables” – the illustrative stories Jesus used – that speak to the mysterious and at-times miraculous ways in which the kingdom of God emerges into our world.
