“Much in a Moment”
Mercy. Mercy. Mercy. Joseph lives it in Egypt, we’ll hear this week from the book of Genesis. Jesus preaches it to those who begin to follow him, as we’ll hear in the gospel of Luke. The Spirit guides us into merciful lives with the power of forgiveness to reconcile what is fractured and divided—admittedly a challenging thing to believe in the societal “climate” in which we live at the moment. And yet, such merciful living is the baptismal blessing of having put on Christ. It is the gift of the lifegiving Spirit. It is a reflection of God’s glory revealed in Christ… not only for others, but for us, too!
