“On Being Last”
This week, we move back into the Gospel of Mark and its continued journey alongside Jesus and his disciples. In this Sunday’s passage, those disciples have their expectations about what Jesus is supposed to be upended, and yet they still get stuck in the typical power struggles of our world. The face of a child, however, challenges all of us to consider where, why, and how God’s presence, power, and purpose manifests among us.
