Ash Wednesday: Wednesday, March 5, worship service at 7:00 pm.

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent with the sobering words, “Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return.” With a solemn call to fasting and repentance and the beginning of our journey to the Easter mysteries of Christ's death and resurrection, we are acknowledge the unity we have with all of our ancestors who have preceded us in death. The sign of ashes suggests our human mortality and frailty… and yet, what seems like an ending is really an invitation to make each day a new beginning, in which we are washed in God's mercy and forgiveness.  After all, the promise of God held by our faith is that we are baptized not only into Jesus’ death but also into his resurrection (Romans 6:3). We are both/and people, in this season and in all of life. Indeed Ash Wednesday reminds us that we are unbroken even by death because of the promise of Jesus Christ. Plan to begin your Lenten journey by taking part in worship on Ash Wednesday, a rich and deep worship experience not to miss.
