Cloverdale United Church Women (UCW) News
Fall Update: The UCW (United Church Women) at Cloverdale United Church is an intergenerational and intercultural organization dedicated to fulfilling the mission of our church. Regular meetings and special events are being planned for the fall. All are welcome and invited to participate.
Monthly Gatherings: In the past, there have been a number of different UCW units or groups (at present, Sunshine, Friendship, and Alpha) at Cloverdale United Church, each with their own activities and goals. However, there are fewer of us, and evening meetings are sometimes difficult. Starting in October we invite you to meet as one group on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the CUC Lounge.
If you are new to our congregation, we welcome you. The monthly Wednesday gatherings are a time for friendship and fellowship, for learning and study, and for planning future projects. And, of course, they also include delicious food from our amazing UCW cooks.
There are many other activities at CUC that provide opportunities to form friendships and to support each other (list is not all-inclusive):
- Help with the annual CUC apple pie fundraiser;
- Volunteer at the Community Handcraft Market (more information coming soon);
- Study and learn at the weekly Tuesday Bible Study with Rev. Matt;
- Sing in the choir;
- Participate as an English language volunteer;
- Volunteer to help with Childrens’ Church or the Sunday morning worship service;
- Help maintain our flower beds and gardens.
