Save the Date: CUC All-church Retreat

Mark your calendars for Cloverdale United Church’s 2024 All-church Retreat, to be held Friday evening, September 27, through Sunday morning, September 29, at the United Church’s Camp Fircom on Gambier Island.

Sponsored and coordinated by CUC’s Intercultural Ministry Team, the all-church retreat will be a fantastic time to strengthen bonds of community and relationship among the diverse segments of our congregation while also deepening faith and spiritual connection. Young and old and in-between, long-time congregant and newcomer, native English speaker and English Language Learning class participant, single person and multi-member household… we hope to have a nice mix from all across our community of faith. Participant costs, which are yet to be finalized, will include the 2 nights of lodging, food, program, and the costs for the water taxi that transports us from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver over to Gambier Island. More information yet to come on program theme and activities, as well as the registration/sign-up process.

It’s been three years since our last retreat experience, and we hope that the refreshed format—less camping-oriented, near the Lower Mainland rather than all the way up in the Okanagan at Naramata, and only two nights over a long weekend rather than a full week in the summer—will enable and encourage new and renewed participation from all across our congregation.
