25th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Change is hard… even change that ultimately will lead to something good. As the Israelite people made their way through the desert after finally being freed from enslavement by the Egyptians, they soon enough found themselves, in the midst of the uncertainty, longing for the secure days of their past… even if those had been days in bondage! Even as their worries and longings led the people to wonder about God’s provision, nevertheless what they needed was still there for them. What God had for them, though, didn’t always look like anything they recognized… and so it is with us: the places where God leads us may not look or feel familiar, but they still hold the new life God has in store.
